The SAML WebSSO Technical Profile is part of the Skolfederation policy. All Skolfederation members that are connected to the Skolfederation SAML federation MUST adhere to the technical profile.

Summary and background
The SAML WebSSO Technical Profile defines additional requirements primarily regarding to IdP and SP metadata. Some requirements were undefined in the previous technical appendix, and was not enforced with technical controls in Federationsadmin. This lead to member metadata having unnecessary elements and errors. While these errors typically did not affect function, some parts of the metadata became guess work for the administrator. The SAML WebSSO Technical Profile aims to provide clarity in these matters.
The profile is derived from the SWAMID SAML WebSSO Technology Profile that is based on SAML2int, thus inheriting attributes and characteristics from its predecessors to extend the possibilities for interoperability.
